On March 6, 1945 he received the Close Combat Clasp in Gold.
He was killed on March 17, 1945 near Stuhlweissenburg.
On March 23, 1945 he received posthumously the Knight's Cross. (according to Krätschmer he was serving with SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 5 when he was killed).
On March 30,1945 he received posthumously the German Cross in Gold.
