SS-Schutze: 19. Mar. 1941

Alex Gent was born in Holzkirchen on 4. January, 1917. He came from a working class family, and not much is known about his early life. He joined the SS in 1941, and requested the Totenkopfdivision to serve with several friends from his hometown.
He entered the Division as a replacement just prior to Operation Barbarossa. Although a normal replacement would not have been treated like a comrade, his friends from Holzkirchen were happy to see their friend and hear news from home.
Alex would be thrown right into combat, but managed to survive the assault on the Stalin Line, as was assigned to 2. Kompanie when the unit moved into the area around Demjansk.
